Education & Training

Understand your numbers. Run a stronger business.

One of the most powerful things you can do as a business owner is understand your own numbers. KB Cloudcount’s education and training services give you the skills to read your accounts, use your cloud software properly, and make confident, informed decisions every day.

You don’t need to become an accountant. You just need clear, practical guidance on how the numbers work for your business — and that’s exactly what we provide.

Training we offer

Every business is different, but the foundations of good financial decision-making are the same. We offer a mix of software training and financial education so you can choose what suits you best.

Xero training

Step-by-step guidance on using Xero, from first log-in through to running useful reports. Ideal if you’re new to Xero or want to tidy up an existing setup.

QuickBooks training

Practical support to get QuickBooks working properly for your business, covering everything from setup and daily processing to VAT and management reporting.

Financial literacy workshops

Plain-English sessions that explain what your profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements really mean, and how to use them to steer your business.

One-to-one coaching

Personalised support focused entirely on your questions, your numbers, and your systems. Work through real scenarios together and build confidence session by session.

Xero Training

Our Xero training takes you from the basics through to confident, day-to-day use. Sessions are suitable for business owners, finance administrators, and operational staff who need to raise invoices, manage expenses, or understand the numbers.

Beginner foundations

We start with the essentials: logging in, user roles, and getting familiar with the Xero dashboard. From there, we cover setting up or reviewing your chart of accounts, connecting bank feeds, and making sure your basic settings reflect how your business actually works.

This level is ideal if you’re new to Xero, have inherited a file from someone else, or want to be sure things are set up correctly before you go any further.

Practical day-to-day use

Next, we focus on the tasks you and your team handle every week: creating and sending invoices, recording bills and expenses, using bank reconciliation confidently, and dealing with common situations like part payments or credit notes.

For intermediate users, we move into running and customising reports, tracking projects, and putting in place simple checks so your data stays clean.

Training is delivered using your own Xero data wherever possible, so everything you learn is immediately relevant. We encourage you to bring real questions and examples from your business to each session.

QuickBooks Training

If you use QuickBooks Online, we help you get beyond the basics so it becomes a reliable, easy-to-use hub for your finances. We work with both new implementations and existing files that need a reset.

Setup and everyday processing

We guide you through setting up your QuickBooks file or reviewing your current setup, including chart of accounts, tax codes, bank connections, and basic preferences. Then we cover daily tasks such as creating sales invoices, recording supplier bills, and categorising transactions correctly.

You’ll learn simple routines that keep your records up to date without taking over your week.

VAT and reporting with confidence

For more experienced users, we look at how to handle VAT returns within QuickBooks, check your data before you file, and avoid common pitfalls. We also show you how to run and interpret key reports so you can track profit, cash, and performance over time.

By the end of the training, you’ll know how to use QuickBooks as a tool to answer day-to-day questions about your business, not just something you log into at year end.

Financial literacy for business owners

Behind every set of accounts is a story about how your business is really performing. Our financial literacy training helps you read that story with confidence, without getting lost in jargon.

Profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow

We unpack the three core financial statements in plain English:

  • Profit & loss — what you’re earning, what you’re spending, and whether your business model is actually profitable.
  • Balance sheet — what the business owns and owes, and how much is really available to you as the owner.
  • Cash flow — why you can be profitable on paper but still feel short of cash, and how to anticipate pinch points before they arrive.

Turn insight into action

We focus on what these reports actually tell you about your next steps. You’ll learn how to use them to:

  • Spot trends in sales and margins.
  • Decide when to invest or hold back.
  • Plan for tax and other upcoming commitments.
  • Have clearer, more productive conversations with your accountant or finance team.

By the end, you’ll feel far more in control of the story behind your numbers.

One-to-one vs group sessions

Different people learn best in different environments. We offer both one-to-one and group formats so you can choose the approach that fits your personality, your team, and your budget.

One-to-one coaching

Ideal if you want focused time on your setup and your questions. We work at your pace, using your own data and real scenarios from your business.

One-to-one sessions suit owners who prefer privacy, have complex situations to work through, or simply want to build confidence before involving their wider team.

Group workshops and team training

Group sessions work well if you want your team to learn together or you enjoy the motivation of learning alongside peers. We blend short explanations with live demonstrations and practical exercises.

Workshops can be delivered remotely via video call or in person (subject to location). We’ll agree the length, agenda, and level of detail in advance so everyone knows what to expect.

Why bother learning this?

Outsourcing your bookkeeping and year-end accounts is sensible. But outsourcing all of your financial understanding can leave you exposed. When you rely entirely on others to explain your numbers, you’re always at least one step behind.

By learning the basics yourself, you gain:

  • Better conversations with your accountant — you can ask sharper questions, challenge assumptions, and understand the advice you’re given.
  • Faster decisions — instead of waiting for someone else to interpret the numbers, you can quickly see what’s happening and choose your next move.
  • Fewer nasty surprises — when you understand your cash flow, tax position, and profitability, last-minute shocks become far less likely.

Learning this doesn’t have to be painful or technical. With the right guidance, it’s simply another practical skill that makes you a stronger business owner.
